Logan Keys’ new book is out, and it has an awesome cover.
Logan is a writer who uses her fiction to entertain and to bring up issues that confront us all. Not your average genre dystopian; instead, she’s a writer who wants to reach out to you, me and generations to come about not letting things get that bad.
When she’s not writing zombies, vampires, superheroes, and robots, she’s fighting against government over-reach and oligarchy using military tactics mixed with a little bit of poetry. (That right there! Whoo Hoo, you go woman! Oligarchies are bad for all living things. With the exception of oligarchs, and they don’t like you.)
Logan’s current Journey has her almost in Japan. At work on her next project. We don’t know a lot, she’s kept it pretty hush-hush, but it has fantasy in it! At NPH we’re hoping for monsters, Godzillish maybe?
However, for all her sci-fi fans, she still writes futuristic sci-fi daily.
Saving imaginary planets one story at a time she says, “My words are my riot.”

We asked her a few question.
When and why did you start writing?
I started writing more seriously in my twenties, actually. I did poetry before, but I recently remembered I had a novella at like ten that I carried around —a mystery about a stolen jewel and five kids. Reminds me, I need to write that story again haha.
Why are you drawn to horror fiction?
I started in horror mostly because it was easiest to me to focus on the dark than the light in my twenties. I think I was going through a rough time and took it out on my pen. But now, I do a ton of other genres..almost everything you can imagine!
What advice do you have for new writers?
My advice is to listen to advice. But be incorrigible at the same time. I think I learned the most as an editor of a magazine, that helped me see things from that side. Some of my most successful author friends ghost wrote for many years. I mean, learn the ropes, don’t pretend to know it all, but at the end of the day, if you want to write zombie my little ponies that fall in love and live happily ever after then, by all means, go for it!
Last but not at all least! Wouldn’t you love a free story from such a cool person. Of course you would. Head here to pick up Love Story.
